Jyoti Bishnu Auditorium, Guhawati : Project Overview
Jyoti Bishnu Prekshagriha needed technology that could support this range of events at a scale of 5,000 attendees.
For Vallect, the assignment extended beyond installing audiovisual equipment in jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
It involved designing and integrating the AV systems, broadcast infrastructure, stage lighting, ELV, and IT backbone that would support the venue’s operation. from a revised front-of-house audio design to distributed audience displays, the project required decisions shaped by the auditorium’s size and the client’s expectations.
The result is a project that demonstrates Vallect’s ability to coordinate multiple technologies, respond to changing requirements, and prepare a major public venue for varied event formats.
About the Project
located in Khanapara, Guwahati, Assam, Jyoti Bishnu Prekshagriha is a cultural and convention venue spread across nearly 15 acres. named after cultural icons Jyoti Prasad Agarvala and Bishnu Prasad Rabha, it provides a setting for cultural programmes, musical performances, conferences, government functions, and public gatherings.
The venue includes a 5,000-seater main auditorium and a 160-seater multipurpose divisible hall, alongside supporting facilities for presenters, production teams, and venue operations.
Its scale created a clear technical requirement. audiences needed suitable sound coverage and access to visual content, while event teams needed presentation, production, and control capabilities. vallect was entrusted with turnkey technology integration to address these requirements across the venue.

Project Scope
Scope of Work
Vallect’s scope covered requirement assessment, system design, procurement, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational training.
The installation extended across:
- Main Auditorium: Professional sound reinforcement, LED video wall, supporting displays, microphones, digital podium, teleprompter, cameras, AV-over-IP distribution, and centralized controls.
- Multipurpose Divisible Hall: Projection, motorized screens, wireless presentation, microphones, distributed audio, switching, and control systems.
- Broadcast and AV Control Areas: Live production, recording, streaming, camera control, monitoring, and external broadcast connectivity.
- Associated Venue Facilities: Technology infrastructure serving VIP lounges, green rooms, conference areas, public spaces, and operational zones.
- Venue-wide Infrastructure: Stage lighting, ELV, IT networking, and connectivity supporting the integrated installation.
This broader responsibility gave the client a turnkey technology partner to coordinate the work across multiple systems.
Challenges : Delivering Flexibility at Scale
The auditorium’s size was only one part of the challenge. its technology also had to support event formats with different audio, visual, and production demands.
The key requirements included:
Sound coverage for 5,000 attendees: The audio design had to address a demanding coverage brief across a large seating area.
A revised speaker strategy: A client request to deliver sound from the front of house required the team to revise the design and remove planned surround or delay speakers.
Visual access across the hall: The main stage display needed supporting screens to serve audience positions throughout the auditorium.
Multiple event formats: Speeches, music, conferences, and government functions required different sources, microphone arrangements, and production workflows.
Broadcast ready infrastructure: Camera feeds, audio, recording, streaming, and OB van connections needed coordinated signal paths.
Multi system delivery: AV, ELV, lighting, and IT teams had to work together around the venue’s requirements.
The design also developed from the project’s detailed bid requirements, making technical planning a central part of Vallect’s responsibility.

Vallect’s Approach: Designing Around the Event
Vallect assessed seating capacity, acoustic behaviour, stage visibility, event formats, broadcasting needs, and operating workflows before developing the system architecture in jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
The design connected audience-facing technology with the infrastructure used behind the scenes.
Displays and loudspeakers formed the visible installation, supported by switching, processing, networking, production equipment, and controls.
Product selection considered performance, compatibility, budget, and the ability to accommodate future additions. project Manager Deep Goswami coordinated the delivery across the technical teams and project stakeholders.
His role included managing design changes, aligning installation activities, and keeping the different technology packages connected to the client’s requirements.
Technology Solutions Across the Venue:
Main Auditorium: Sound and Visuals for 5,000 Attendees
The main auditorium required an installation capable of supporting both formal presentations and live performances.

The combination addressed audience presentation and the needs of speakers, performers, and operators within the same space in jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
Multipurpose Divisible Hall: A Smaller Space with Flexible Uses : 160pax
The 160-seater multipurpose hall added another event environment to the venue.
It required presentation and audio systems suitable for seminars, conferences, and parallel programme activity.

This scope gave event teams the infrastructure to manage live feeds and prepare content for different outputs.
Engineering Decisions That Defined the Project
Two design decisions stand out because they directly addressed the auditorium’s scale in jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
Revising the audio design around front-of-house delivery
The project brief included a 110 dB sound coverage requirement across the jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
When the client requested a front-of-house approach, Vallect worked with Bose to revise the speaker design.
The revised arrangement used three ShowMatch line array clusters with ten loudspeakers in each.
This was developed to address the coverage requirement within the new placement constraints.
Extending visuals beyond the main LED wall
A large stage display alone could not address every audience viewing position jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
The team incorporated sixteen Sony 85-inch displays, described in the project records as suspended installations.
These supporting screens extended visual presentation into the seating area.
The approach addressed the viewing challenge through display distribution as well as main-screen size.
Testing, Commissioning and Operational Handover
Vallect’s teams tested the connected installation before commissioning jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
The work included audio tuning, display calibration, signal routing verification, lighting synchronization, and control system optimization.
Live event simulations checked system operation against intended venue uses.
Training was provided to technical and management teams for day-to-day operation.
Support and maintenance planning formed part of the handover.
The supplied project account also records back-to-back events following delivery, providing a practical reference for the jyoti Bishnu Auditorium.
Recognition & Appreciation
The supplied project details state that Jyoti Bishnu Prekshagriha was inaugurated in August 2025 by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Client feedback acknowledges Vallect’s role as a turnkey technology partner.
It highlights the team’s understanding of operational requirements, coordination across building technologies, professionalism, and post-installation support.
Deep Goswami’s project leadership was an important part of this delivery.
His contribution included managing the revised audio approach, coordinating supporting display installations, and aligning AV, ELV, lighting, and IT teams.
What This Project Demonstrates?
jyoti Bishnu Auditorium shows the breadth of Vallect’s auditorium integration capability. the assignment combined audience sound, large-format visuals, broadcast production, presentation tools, stage lighting, ELV, and IT infrastructure.
It also required the team to adapt technical designs as client requirements evolved.
For authorities, consultants, architects, and project teams, the case study provides a reference for evaluating Vallect on projects where multiple technologies must work together at scale.
