From Scratch to Handover: AV Integration for NTPC Pakri’s 500-Seater Auditorium

A successful auditorium experience depends on what the audience can hear, see, & follow, behind that experience, multiple technologies must operate together in NTPC.

Project Details

• Project Name: NTPC
• Space: Auditorium
• Seating Capacity: 500 pax
• Location: Pakri, Jharkhand
• Project Scope: Audio Visual Integration for a multipurpose auditorium
• AV Integration Partner: Vallect

The Requirement: One Auditorium, Multiple Technical Needs

The requirement was to create a connected AV environment capable of supporting presentations, screenings, and live events. each activity places different demands on the system. presentations need intelligible speech and clear content. screenings require dedicated playback and large-screen projection. live events need stage monitoring, flexible microphone access, and coordinated technical operation. the integration approach needed to connect these capabilities into a practical operating environment in NTPC.

The Challenge: Coordinating Sound, Visuals, and Operation

Building from scratch meant planning beyond individual equipment specifications in NTPC.
Audience coverage, stage requirements, signal transmission, content sources, and control access all needed consideration.

For a venue accommodating 500 people, the challenge was to support the audience experience while giving presenters and operators the tools required to manage different event formats.

The Solution: Audio for the Hall and Stage

Vallect integrated line array speakers for the main sound reinforcement system, front fill speakers complement this arrangement by serving seats close to the stage, while subwoofers provide low-frequency reinforcement.

• Line Array Speakers
• Wireless Microphone Systems
• Subwoofer System
• Front Fill Speakers
• Stage Monitoring
• Digital Audio Mixing
• Green Room & Control Room Audio

Stage monitors provide audio reference for performers and speakers, helping them follow programme content and microphone feeds as required. digital audio mixing enables operators to manage inputs, balance sources, and adjust output levels. green room and control room audio extends the system beyond the hall, supporting backstage listening and technical monitoring.

Visuals for Presentations and Cinema Playback

Touch-panel integration brings screen movement into the control interface.

• 98-inch 4K Large-Format Display
• 75-inch 4K Professional Display Screens
• High-Brightness Cinema Projection
• E-Cinema Playback Server
• Motorised Projection Screen – 7,500 × 4,700 mm
• 4K PTZ Camera System
• Wireless Presentation System
• Live Streaming & Recording
• HDBaseT Transmission
• Digital Multimedia Podium

An E-Cinema server provides dedicated digital cinema playback.
Wireless presentation supports content sharing from compatible devices, while a digital multimedia podium provides a presentation point on stage.

HDBaseT transmission supports AV signal distribution between connected locations, forming part of the infrastructure linking sources and display destinations.

Event Capture and Centralised Control

A 4K PTZ camera system supports event capture with remotely adjustable views. multi-HDMI input recording and video mixing provide tools for managing video sources within live streaming and recording workflows.

• Centralised AV Control
• Touch-Panel Projection Screen Control
• PoE Network Infrastructure
• Wireless Network Infrastructure

Centralised AV control brings connected system functions into a common operating framework.
PoE network infrastructure supports compatible devices, while wireless network infrastructure provides connectivity for supported applications.

Together, these elements address the operational challenge of managing multiple technologies within one venue.

At Handover: A Connected AV Foundation

At the handover stage, NTPC Pakri’s auditorium brings together capabilities for sound reinforcement, visual presentation, cinema playback, content sharing, and event capture.

The project reflects Vallect’s approach to building auditorium AV infrastructure around the needs of audiences, presenters, and technical teams.
