War Heroes Memorial, Ambala : Project Overview
At War Heroes Memorial, Ambala, technology carries a meaningful responsibility: helping visitors connect with the stories of India’s First War of Independence.
That responsibility extends beyond the museum galleries.
Historical content, film screenings, public ceremonies, cultural performances, and outdoor presentations each require a different way of reaching an audience.
Vallect was entrusted with AV and technology integration across the Museum, Auditorium, Open Air Theatre (OAT), and Landscape areas.
The scope brought together professional audio, projection, video walls, event production, stage lighting, content distribution, and control systems.
The project demonstrates Vallect’s ability to take a complex, multi-space requirement and turn it into an installation designed around how each space would actually be used.
About the Project
War Heroes Memorial, Ambala. honours the sacrifices associated with India’s First War of Independence.
The memorial brings together historical storytelling, education, and cultural experiences within a large public campus.
Its Museum, Auditorium, Open Air Theatre, and Landscape areas serve different purposes within the visitor journey.
Together, they provide spaces for exploring historical narratives, viewing multimedia content, attending ceremonies, and experiencing cultural performances.
Within this setting, displays present historical content, audio carries narration and performance, and projection supports large-format storytelling.
Each environment required technology designed around its audience, content, and operational needs.

Project Scope
Vallect’s scope covered AV requirement assessment, system design, procurement, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational training.
The deployment included:
- Museum Galleries: Video walls, professional displays, distributed audio, media playback, AV-over-IP distribution, and centralized controls.
- Auditorium: Projection, sound reinforcement, microphones, digital podium, presentation connectivity, stage lighting, motorized drapery, and AV control.
- Open Air Theatre: Outdoor sound reinforcement, stage monitoring, PTZ cameras, live video production, recording, streaming, and operator controls.
- Landscape Areas: Outdoor LED display, large-format projection, projection mapping infrastructure, landscape audio, content distribution, and control systems.
Beyond equipment installation, Vallect coordinated signal routing, connectivity, equipment positioning, and operating workflows.
The scope also included system calibration and training to prepare designated venue teams for day-to-day use.
Challenges :
The key integration challenges included:
Preparing the venue for operation:
The installed systems needed clear controls, testing, and training for the teams responsible for using them.
Designing for different uses:
A gallery presentation, a formal ceremony, and a live performance require different sources, outputs, and operating workflows.
Planning sound for each environment:
Speaker selection, positioning, and tuning had to account for indoor acoustics, outdoor layouts, and audience coverage.
Routing content to the intended displays:
Projectors, video walls, and professional displays needed suitable switching and distribution infrastructure.
Accommodating outdoor installations:
Projection and camera equipment required protection, with signal connections planned for longer distances.
Coordinating multiple technologies:
Audio, video, playback, stage, and control systems had to function together within their designated spaces.

Vallect’s Role: From Planning to Operational Readiness
The design process considered visitor movement, display visibility, acoustic behaviour, audio coverage, and content delivery.
Equipment layouts and signal paths were planned alongside the way operators would manage each space. product selection focused on performance, compatibility, operational requirements, and project budget. the aim was to create systems that could support the required functions while remaining practical to operate. delivery also required coordination between project stakeholders, technology partners, contractors, and venue teams. this coordination connected design decisions with procurement, site installation, and commissioning activities.

Testing, Commissioning and Team Handover

Vallect’s teams carried out equipment positioning, cable management, signal connections, and integration across the four spaces.
Testing included audio tuning, display calibration, routing verification, and control system optimization.
These checks addressed both individual equipment functions and connected system operation.
The purpose was to prepare each space for its intended use.
Training was provided to designated technical and operational teams.
The handover covered day-to-day use, with support and maintenance planning included to address ongoing system needs.
What Makes This Project Stand Out
Museum content distribution, auditorium stage systems, OAT video production, and outdoor projection each demand different technical decisions.
Bringing them into one project required experience across multiple AV applications.
Vallect’s work connected these requirements through design, infrastructure, installation, and operational preparation.
The resulting capabilities support historical content delivery, public presentations, cultural performances, live video production, and outdoor visual experiences.
For consultants, architects, authorities, and project teams evaluating an integration partner, this case study offers a concrete example of Vallect’s experience with a complex public venue.
